Dr Peter Geoffrey Lucas
Dr. Peter Lucas received his medical degree from the University of Queensland in 1998 before going on complete his surgical training at The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane where he first developed his passion for neurosurgery. After completing his residency, he pursued advanced training throughout Australia, in New Zealand and, post fellowship, in the United Kingdom being being awarded the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (FRACS) in Neurosurgery in 2007.
Dr Lucas spent time as a Neurosurgical Fellow at the prestigious Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge, England before returning to Brisbane to take up a consultant position at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital. In 2009, Dr Lucas opened his own practice, operating out of Brisbane Private Hospital. Since then, Dr Lucas has dedicated his medical career to providing exceptional care to patients with a range of neurological conditions, earning the respect of his colleagues and the trust of his patients.
Dr Lucas's dedication to neurosurgery has extended beyond the operating theatre, presenting at and chairing conferences; training medical students; publishing scientific papers; and introducing new spinal surgery techniques to the country. When he isn't working as a doctor, Dr Lucas enjoys spending time with his family and completing a MBA (Master of Business Administration) part-time.
