In 1980 merged with another firm, composed of other attorneys who had left Fulbright & Jaworski, which became Gilpin, Maynard, Parsons, Pohl & Bennett. In 1987 became partner of spin-off firm, Gilpin, Pohl & Bennett. In 1988 became partner of another spin-off, Pohl & Bennett, which later merged with Mathews, Dunn, Arnold & Ellwood to become Pohl, Bennett & Mathews.
