Mills Elder Law
Our firm is committed to educating clients about what they can and should do to prepare for long-term care and/or protect a loved one after they are gone. Often, long-term care planning is overlooked and families with a special needs dependent do not plan soon enough. We service clients in Monmouth and Ocean County New Jersey as well as Bucks County Pennsylvania; we put your best interests first by providing advice to secure the best possible future for you and your family. Our primary focus is elder law, special needs planning, estate administration and guardianships. Elder Law addresses issues involved with aging include senior housing, home care, long-term (or nursing home) care, guardianship/conservatorship, healthcare directives, Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. Special needs planning focuses on providing for our loved ones with disabilities when we are no longer able to manage their care and advocate on their behalf. Probate and estate administration are the processes through which estate assets are transferred after death. Finally, A guardianship is an involuntary proceeding under the New Jersey statutes whereby someone is appointed by the court to become the decision maker for the incapacitated person.
