Portland Neurofeedback
Neurofeedback, also known as neurotherapy, is an innovative approach to biofeedback that provides real-time feedback on brain activity, with the aim of reinforcing healthy brain function through operant conditioning. By using electroencephalography (EEG) to collect electrical activity from the brain via sensors placed on the scalp, neurofeedback can present feedback using video displays or sound, enabling individuals to learn how to self-regulate their brain activity. One of the key benefits of neurofeedback is its potential to treat a wide range of mental disorders, including ADD/ADHD, panic attacks, learning disorders, social disorders, concussion recovery, anxiety, depression, PTSD, migraines, and insomnia. In fact, neurofeedback has been in practice for over five decades, with a growing body of evidence supporting its effectiveness.
