Suthers and Associates brings a combined 75 years of Professional Land Development and Civil Engineering Expertise to assist in the Highest and Best use of raw land for Commercial Developers and Residential Home Builders. Our Principal, Mr. George I. Suthers, is a Registered Civil Engineer in the Southwestern five State Region, Arizona, California, New Mexico, Utah and Navada since 1966 and a Registered Land Surveyor in Arizona since 1983 bringing such Prestigious Projects as Fountain Hills, with its man-made lake and 562 foot fountain (the largest in the world) which is visible for miles and Villa de Paz Master Planned Community and Golf Resort in the Phoenix West Valley and Solano del Sol, a 600 acre Master Planned Community in the foothills of Tucson, Arizona. In addition to these High Profile projects, Mr. Suthers was the lead Civil Engineer on the Innovative "Foster City" project in the San Francisco Bay Area near San Mateo... a man-made floating island subdivision that rises and falls with the tide, connected to land by 'hinged bridges', over-coming many technical obsticals to connect utilities and site-infrastructure to "the island" community. In 1967-68; Mr. Suthers was selected to provide Civil support to the Department of Energy in constructing the then state-of-the-art Weston Atomic Accelerator; a 3.9 mile ring, particle accelerator and a one-mile liner accelerator (atom-smasher) in Weston, Illinois, while in the employ of Danial, Mann, Johnson and Mindenhall, head-quartered in California. The Weston Accelerator is better known now by the World Famous name "Fermilab" and is the second largest particle accelerator after the new "CERN's Large Hadron Collider" situated in the northwest suburbs of Geneva on the Franco–Swiss border. The technical hurdles of the "new technology" (in 1967) required problem-solving skills far and beyond "book-learning" which Mr. Suthers fulfilled and overcame. The finished project is the proof of his analytical and problem-solving abilities. Throughout his career, Mr. Suthers has become a “Legend in his own time” in Arizona and in his prime was "The Preeminent Engineer" in the Valley of the Sun.
